Keeps changing subject without ever answering; tests whether you'll let dodges stand.
How to fix it
If they dodge, calmly reassert the same question. Do not accuse them of dodging or debate their engagement. Each deflection is a strike; three strikes, walk away.
Coaching notes
- Always bring it back to what they already said.
- You didn't get an answer for number three again, don't move on.
- If you haven't gotten step 3, don't ask any other questions.
- Why are you dodging? is debating, not reassertion. Repeat the question.
- Three deflections on any question = disengage.
