Framing It as Treatment, Not Freedom
Severity 2FramingStep 1Step 3Step 6
Frames issue as treatment or conditions instead of freedom vs slavery, they want to live free, not just live.
The give pair
Gives ammo
Don't you think these animals deserve better treatment and conditions?
Gives nothing
In the time of slavery, would you agree we should have been fighting for freedom, or for slaves to be treated better?
The round they fire back
Argues for better treatment, free-range, or humane care instead of liberation.
How to fix it
They don't just want to live, they want to live free. Freedom/slavery framing works better than treatment. Most would rather die than endure what they go through.
Coaching notes
- Set foundation early: conversation is about exploitation and freedom, not treatment.
- Avoid slaughterhouses as the problem, the problem is using them at all.
- Good analogy from outreach: in the time of slavery, fight for freedom or treated better? Shows welfarism fails.
