Framing It as Consumption, Not Exploitation
Frames accountability as eating, consuming, buying, or consumer choices, instead of using someone for your purposes. Exploitation includes zoos, entertainment, skin, testing, and paying for others to consume, not just what's on their plate.
The give pair
Gives ammo
Is it possible to respect someone if you're consuming their flesh, or paying for your family to eat meat?
Gives nothing
Can you truly respect other animals if you use them for your purposes?
The round they fire back
Dodges with diet answers ('I only eat eggs'), paying for someone else's meal, or 'I don't buy it myself', while still exploiting via other means.
How to fix it
Step 3 is exploitation and respect, not consumption, purchasing, or diet. They exploit without eating flesh (zoos, skin, entertainment). Use: can you respect them if you use them for your purposes?
Coaching notes
- They may pay for someone else to consume, still exploitation.
- They don't have to consume any products to exploit animals.
- Consumption framing lets them think diet change alone fixes it.
